"Happy Tails to You!"
Lost Pets
Happy New Years from Tailmates.com! We know that it is great spending time with your pet when any festivities happpen, but you surely don't want to see them run away. Why would they run away? Well, this time of year, we were finally allowed to have certain fireworks. Please check with your local authorities in your city of what you can use. Even though you are allowed to use certain fireworks, make sure that they are not to harsh for your dog's ears. Most dogs do not like the sound of screaming, crackling, and popping so what do they do? They run away, or hide. Your really lucky if all they do is hide because New Years Eve is the worst time to lose your dogs and even cats too. You can prevent this. Instead of bringing your pets outside when you light off fireworks. Lock him or her inside where she wont get out, but she will have a place to hide. When you stop doing a firework or two, go inside to reassure the dog. Tell them that they are ok, and even pet or hug them for a little. Sadly, if your dog still gets lost, try not to panic. Here are some addresses and numbers where you could call in to report a found or lost dog or cat, or go to find if a shelter had found him or her and is safely keeping them until you possibly claim him.
